The Natural Dog Company Split Elk Antler Dog Chew
The Natural Dog Company Split Elk Antler Dog Chews are naturally shed and sourced from the Colorado Rockies! They are a very durable chew and have a higher ratio of soft inner marrow compared to the extremely hard outer layer, making them less dense than a deer antler. Split antlers have the softer center marrow exposed and are recommended for dogs who are new to chewing antlers; however, a split antler is not as durable as a whole antler.
These are only grade A and B antlers, which means that they are in nearly perfect condition, with natural brown coloration and no sun damage.
All antlers from The Natural Dog Company are hand sorted by weight and have natural variation in length depending on thickness and shape. They generally last for a period of months for dogs that are regular chewers.
- Small weigh 100g or less and measure approximately 6" long. Suitable for smaller dogs under 30 lbs.
- Medium weigh 101-200g and range from 6" (thick, fat pieces) to 12" (skinnier pieces) long. Suitable for medium to large (30+ lbs) dogs.
- Large weigh 201-300g and vary in thickness and shape, averaging approximately 9" in length. Suitable for large (40+ lbs) dogs.
Please note: Antlers are extremely dense and hard - we do not recommend them for dogs that have underlying dental problems, that are especially hard chewers. Do not give a smaller sized antler to a dog that attempts to swallow objects whole.
